Agree what the report is for

Start with the decision the report should support. Define the population, period, source and owner of each measure. That conversation can be more valuable than adding another dashboard to an unclear reporting process.

We can help review existing reports, document definitions, prepare data transformations or design a more consistent reporting workflow. The scope determines which systems and data are involved.

Reduce avoidable preparation

A proposed solution might collect approved extracts, check expected fields, flag missing inputs and assemble a reviewable working file. It should preserve a route back to source records so discrepancies can be investigated.

Make exceptions visible

Unexpected totals, missing records and late inputs need ownership. A report should distinguish an actual zero from an unavailable value and identify any material limitation on interpretation.

Review before distribution

A named owner validates the output and decides when it is fit to use. Where a report supports a financial, board or regulatory representation, the responsible reviewer retains that role. Automated preparation is not independent assurance.

Measure preparation and usefulness

Track time spent gathering and correcting inputs, recurring reconciliation issues and whether the intended audience can act on the result. A visually polished dashboard alone does not establish data quality or a business outcome.
